i have a lust

More like an obsession over things I know I should not buy but the desire to own and wear it is so strong that I'm willing to go vegan to atone for my shameful covet...

woohoo~!

I could feel the wind around my neck! Many asked if the recent hot weather's the reason for the chopping off of my long hair. Heh. A small small part of it is. But mainly, I was quite sick of the long-hair look. I wanted a change. Not too drastic thou. The last time I had a short hairdo was eons ago and the change wasn't very pleasant I say. Perhaps loaded with more experience in 'hair management' (not to mention a very good hair stylist), tada!

I couldn't wait to show it off to The Boyfriend and his friends =D.

Three words: I LOVE IT.

what makes a fine man

Alain Delon in Purple Moon

I guess because what it comes to attitude, nobody does it better than the French. The Laissez-faire approach. A certain je ne sais quoi. Somehow, men from the past attracts me most. No frills. Just a crisp white cotton shirt, well-tailored suit and a whole lot of airy confidence around himself. Me like.

can someone tell mother earth to cool down?

My gear to a Saturday basketball game. Had to watch The Boyfriend in action and drool (slightly) over the man action. The hat's helpful but still, not enough to block out the awful scorching hot sun. Thankfully, sunscreen exists.

better today

Usually on third day of my *ahem*, I'd screw up my dressing and wear something totally frumpy (read: urgh-ugly) and think it's okay to walk out on the streets. Yeah, so yesterday, I had my third-day curse. Urgh! I could have shot myself in the head looking what I looked yesterday. Anyway onward with the future!

I feel so much better today. A sensible black dress, layered with my beloved plaid jacket. A waist belt to remind myself how much I should cherish my still-visible waist.

fashion shows are addictive

Although this is my only my first, so to speak, I am already craving for my next chance at taking up an entire evening to dress up, smile at schmooze with people I hardly know, smile at cameras, clap at the right time and nod my head at every model's entry onto the runway. I'm good at this. Hah!

Celebrated Vivienne Westwood put on an amazing show, spotlighting the British fashion from early 70's to modern day haute couture. Honestly, I know no big words to describe a fashion show. I am no journalist nor Class 5 fashionista. I can only admit that it was fun pretending to be a socialite for a night. =)

young punk

OMG! Just who the hell are the parents who dressed this kid??? Two Thumbs UP!!

In fact, the nautical striped shirt looks just like a mini version of what The Boyfriend has... Me like. =) I'm absolutely for dressing up my kid and instilling fashion sense into him/her at a young age. It'd be too difficult to teach them that 'flip-flops + jeans = SLOPPY' when they turn older.

loose loose

I live in Singapore. The little 'red dot' which the Sun shines all year round. The rain pours pretty often. But recently the rain does not bring the cool wind along. It is still incredibly warm and of all the things I hate - humid. Even a linen outer wear makes it unbearable warm. Urgh...

Still, I'm not used to wearing only spaghetti tank tops - exposing my boobs and all - without an outer wear. In fact, if the weather doesn't permit layering, then accessorize! Well, I kinda fake it with a graphic tee instead. (Less the clink-clang around my neck hah!) Isn't this a little Grunge? Sans a pair of fab boots though.

wait a moment

This day is supposedly bright and sunny. Then the rain had to come pissing down right after I took these pictures. What the... And my poor suede heels were (certainly) not spared from the horrible wet weather. Urgh.

It's the girls' night out this evening. Shall not let the wet morning spoil my chirpy mood. I thought the pink socks are wickedly cute with my grey suede platforms. Am trying the Burberry runway look. Heh.

o sole mio

OHMYGAWDIT'SBEENONEWHOLEEFFINGMONTH!

Work has taken me away on a one-month hiatus from this blog. Nobody's complaining except me because I do miss dressing up and formulating funny ideas to wear my hats. It's all plain tees and jeans when I was firing orders around in China. And yesterday - my first day back at work in Singapore, I had trouble matching up clothes to wear. I thought I lost it. Scary.

Anyway since my return, the heatwave has never stopped seizing the life outta me. So I kept away whatever winter wear I wore in Shanghai and took out every sun dress I never had the chance to wear. I've been bugging The Boyfriend to take me to a picnic. I don't really fancy munching down sandwiches at an insect-infested park, but I reckon my newly acquired floppy hat needs a good 'sunning'!

It's summer baby!

a plaid's plea

Vintage I am, frumpy I'm not.
Those girls adore me. Just ask Agyness Deyn and Katey Moss. Catholic girls, grunge bands and, may I add, Burberry love my patterned fervor.
Loud and brutal, I need not be.
One piece of me to pique a neutral look,
add a knee-high socks with patent boots.
The tartan movement is here to stay.
Avoid dizzy spells with all-plaid clothes,
Just one piece of me, to boot the look.

11*C @ geelong

I haven't the time to check out Geelong's or Melbourne's fashion. With the stores all closing at 5pm, it's tough on my 9am-7pm schedule.

So thank goodness for K-Mart! At 9pm, I was still making a choice between black and beige floppy hat. If you need to know, I was half a crazy woman, grabbing nearly every thing from the shelves. Shopaholic deprived of her fix for a week makes her a mental one. hahah...

Anyway, it was 11degrees at Geelong and my poor feet were crying out loud for these fuzzy warm boots! The only problem: there is none of my size. Dammit!

audrey is that you?

It's a pleasant surprise to see Charles & Kieth coming up with such classy vogue-inspired ad campaign. A far cry from its Auntish heartland reputation with the locals.

Boy, I LURVE the little black dress and floppy hat! Oops, they both not from C&K.

Anyway, I don't own a truckload full of C&K's heelys. Mainly because I have had awful (and painful) experiences with its heels. Bottomline: I think my feet is worth more than rotten quality shoes whose designs are ripped off from the real haute couture labels. Though I must say its flats and accessories are quite worthed the buy. The signature store at Changi Airport Duty Free has become my usual replenishment stop for belts and sometimes sunglasses.

another on the lust list

After writing the post of me having this insane urge to get a wide brim floppy hat, I spent the long long night googling about it. Call me persistent.

And Anthropologie has just what I want! Its Hideaway Hat (very apt name) has a 8-inch brim which, at first sight, seems a tad crumpled like an old farmer's worn-out sun hat. But floppy doesn't mean sloppy. The brim is actually lined with wires that will adjust to the whims of the wearer (which would me yours truly)!

I love the lazy, nonchalant look the Hideaway Hat brings out. The slightly crumpled brim resembles a lotus leaf, no? If I have my way, I would dance around in the barley fields with nothing but a cotton white dress, ruffia straw floppy hat and a flute of champange in my hand, singing to a Sixpence None The Richer number.

Other than ruffia straw and polyester, the floppy hat comes in velvet, wool, satin and even fur! But for more pragmatic purposes, I think the straw, satin ones would make more sense in tropically Singapore.

Now I just need to get The Mother to stop nagging at me for my excessive collection of headwear... =P

summer brimming with lurrrve

For some insane reason, I think frolicking and basking in summer sunshine while out on a picnic outing is kinda romantic. But not without a cute sun dress and a HUGE floppy hat! (think fun sans freckles)

I love my Fedoras and Trilbies but a floppy sun hat (somewhat) spells a different kind of romance and exudes a 'lil o-so-sweet feminine charm. Well, the huge brim will hide my squirting eyes (from the sun glare) very well.

The MOSIAC festival is coming soon. There will be excuses to go outdoors for music and beer. *rubs hands* Time to search for the perfectly stunning floppy sun hat! Heard of Helen Kaminski??

just this last time

I've been telling myself to save up for an exotic getaway with The Boyfriend to Koh Samed - a really secluded beautiful island in Thailand.

So I promised myself that this pair of wonderfully gorgeous Enzo Angiolini Easocal Dark Grey Suede in 3.5inches heels will be the last pair of sole purchase this year. Then I recalled I said the same thing for the Zoe Witther PIP Black Patent Ankle Boots. And the stacked platform peep-toe sandals. And the Anne Klein Black Patent Wedges.

good morning love

Tis the season to fall in love and wear short skirts! Screw the recession. We need shorter hem lines to boost the bearish economy. Besides, tight skirts are good for withstanding the stronger-than-usual wind experienced on this sunny island!

here's one for first day of work

The recent festives/holidays reeling in one after the other, has got me snowed in quite a bit. Some got married, some celebrated their birthdays and a few home parties to attend. Amidst the 'chaos', I realised I haven't taken a single decent picture to show you what I wore -_-"
